IGP Egbetokun Commissions Over 300 Residential Units and Modern Facilities in Kano State
Kano, Nigeria – August 6, 2025:
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has officially commissioned more than 300 newly constructed residential units and ultra-modern facilities at Bompai and Zaria Road, Kano State, in a landmark move to improve police welfare and strengthen institutional reform within the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun described the project as a “strategic investment in the comfort, morale, and operational effectiveness of police officers,” stressing that adequate housing is a key pillar of his administration’s welfare agenda.
“This project underscores our determination to ensure that officers and their families live in decent and secure environments. A well-accommodated officer is a more focused, motivated, and efficient officer,” he stated.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who commended the IGP’s vision and reaffirmed the state government’s partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring peace and security in the state.
Also in attendance were Architect Bashir Mudi, Contractor and Executive Director of VLAAR Homes Limited; Brigadier General A.M. Tukur, Brigade Commander, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Kano; Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran, Executive Consultant, NPFPDCC Ltd.; and retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Dan Mallam Mohammed, Managing Director of NPFPDCC Ltd., along with his team, among other distinguished guests.
The new facilities are expected to significantly boost the living standards of police personnel in Kano State, further promoting professionalism, efficiency, and dedication to duty.
